Okay I've got to figure out how to expand the main panel. Stay tuned for frustration as the internet OWNS me.

New one for the show
Just finished another piece for the SVA show in May. Things are moving along nicely. I always have these dreams where I'm running with my arms and legs like an animal. These dreams are always so vivid and realistic partly due to the fact that I'm not moving any faster than my usual gate but unlike real life (and I've tried this several times) the movement is completely fluid and natural. I also often dream of blindly falling off of a cliff due to something obstructing my vision or competing for my attention. In this case - I figured it'd just be easier and more compelling of an image to combine the two.
I started in my book with a basic sketch from reference of myself taken by my roommate (much to his dissatisfaction) then refined it over the light table with graphite on 300lb Fabriano soft press. After a quick spritz of spray fix, I went immediately to watercolor.
Once scanned in, the rest was all clickity-clackity. For the first time - I think I effectively used the Gaussian Blur filter appropriately. The red scarf was painted totally in Photoshop over about three layers (props to Sam Weber for giving me some pern-ters) and I then added some scanned-in textures of my own to give the whole thing a more organic feel. It'll get the real treatment when it goes to print.

Two Eyes, A Nose & A Mouth
This final semester I am taking Stephen Savage's class on likeness and caricature and our assignment this week was to create a likeness of Johnny Depp and to use the same face for four of his roles.
It was a little difficult at times getting the face to match the heads and hair which were drawn separately, pieced together and quickly colored in photoshop. The Georgie one was particularly difficult. Some of the heads I drew are a little longer than Depp's actual melon so I'll need to look a little closer at that for next weeks class.
